This application caters to a diverse range of anglers, from casual enthusiasts who fish occasionally to dedicated anglers who fish regularly each month. The updates aim to make the app more intuitive and streamlined for all user types.

FISHBUOY Pro is an all-in-one digital fishing log that allows users to record their catches and access real-time water, marine, and weather conditions. A distinguishing feature is its capacity to automatically associate each photo with relevant environmental data based on the photo’s timestamp and location, thereby minimizing manual input and facilitating the analysis of patterns over time.

For data-oriented anglers, this app provides comprehensive tools while ensuring the privacy of user data remains intact.

Key features of FISHBUOY PRO include:

• Advanced Digital Fish Logging: Utilizes the mobile device’s camera to quickly capture and log fish catch details, automatically tagging each photo with water gauge, marine buoy, and weather data. Users can also modify or update photos and catch information as needed. All data is stored privately, with no public sharing.
• Recreational and Avid Angler Modes: A simplified mode for casual users focused solely on storing catches. For more detailed tracking, the app facilitates tagging photos with real-time environmental conditions—ideal for anglers interested in identifying trends and insights. Users select their preferred mode directly from the home screen.
• FishMaps and Private Spots: Each catch photo integrates into a private, interactive map, aiding in spatial analysis of fishing locations through geographic and time-based filters. The previous public/private sharing options have been discontinued.
• NAVIONICS Bathymetry Maps: Integration with NAVIONICS allows users to view catch locations overlayed on detailed lake contour maps or plan future trips. Existing NAVIONICS login credentials are used for access.
• Real-time Water Conditions: Provides access to water condition data from NOAA, USGS, Environment Canada, and Water Office sources worldwide—crucial information influencing fish activity and bait visibility.
• Real-time Weather Data: Includes Doppler radar, wind metrics, air temperatures, and surface/bottom lake temperatures to support strategic fishing decisions.
• FishGallery: Offers quick recall of all recorded fish photos with filtering options by species and date, simplifying the review process.
• FishBuoy Groups: Enables creation of private groups for sharing catches among trusted individuals. Each post includes detailed environmental and catch data. Groups support organizing catches by lake or species and now feature individual map displays of shared photos.
• FishBuoy Events: Transforms groups into competitive events or tournaments where participants can share photos, see rankings, and customize privacy settings concerning catch locations and other sensitive data.
